This title track is about refugees. Having sailed across the ocean, this song is inspired by the many boat people separated from their loved ones held captive in abysmal conditions, or stranded not knowing what their fate will be.
lyrics
Far From Home
For so Long
we've been drifting far from home
For so long
we don't know where we belong
Little bird you who flies
with such ease and grace and freedom
take my arms and give them wings
so that I might fly over this barbed wire
Little bird you who sees everything
can you tell me are my loved ones still alive?
For so Long
we've been drifting far from home
For so long
we don't know where we belong
Little bird you who flies
the seven mansions in the blue skies
take my words and give them wings
so that you can fly them to those
who are still listening
Little bird you who sees everything
can you tell me are my loved ones still alive?
For so Long
we've been drifting far from home
For so long
we' don't know where we belong
we've been drifting far from home
we' don't know where we belong
Cause since I've had to run I have lost my
Father
my mother
my brothers
my sisters
my neighbours
my friends
my family
my uncles
my aunts
I have lost my home
I have lost my school
I have lost my town
My country
my identity
my nationality
my education
I've lost everything
we've been drifting far from home
we' don't know where we belong
we've been drifting far from home
we' don't know where we belong
For so long
we've been drifting far from home
for so long
we' don't know where we belong
